We are seeking to appoint a Finance Administrator who is reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking individual who will inspire confidence and has excellent organisation and interpersonal skills.

The role will have significant contact with parents/carers, staff and students at all levels of the school, as well as precise, detailed administration duties.

This post is initially being offered as a fixed term contract and is 95% full-time: full-time during term-time plus our 4 INSET days and 30 days in the school holidays to support the operational finance requirements within the School. The working hours are 9am to 5.30pm with an hour for lunch. The salary package will depend on qualifications, experience and hours of work. For the right candidate a permanent position might be offered in the future subject to completion of performance targets. For the right candidate there is potential for some financial support for accountancy/finance qualification.

The post holder will be one of two Finance Admininstrators within the Bursary team and will report to the Finance Manager. The major focus of the role is to administer key operational finance procedures for the school. We are looking for the following in our successful candidate

Qualifications and Experience

•Qualification to A Level or equivalent is desirable but not essential

•Experience working in Finance department of a range of small and medium-sized businesses, with debtors experience would be advantage.

•Some understanding of Schools, including operational aspects would be an advantage

•Experienced administrator with an ability to pick up systems and procedures quickly and with high levels of accuracy

Knowledge, skills and abilities

•Organised and efficient; Excellent organisation and time management skills.

•Stays calm under pressure

•Able to prioritise effectively in a demanding environment.

•Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and relate effectively and earn the confidence of parents/carers, colleagues and students

•Experience with accounting package skills would be an advantage.The School uses a system called PASS.

•Strong IT skills and understanding – particularly use of a range of Excel, Email, Word and other MS Office applications is critical.

•Organised and efficient; Excellent organisation and time management skills.


•Able to work with and relate well to other members of the Bursarial team and all sections of the School community
