Teacher of Singing - Self-employed

Summary

Wimbledon High School is looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Singing to join our vibrant Music Department on a self-employed basis.

Detail

As a Teacher of Singing, you will deliver high-quality individual singing lessons, typically teaching between 20 and 25 lessons per week across the 9–18 age range (Year 5-13). Lessons should be engaging, structured and carefully tailored to each pupil’s ability, experience and musical interests, enabling students to develop healthy vocal technique, strong musicianship and artistic confidence. Your teaching will span a broad range of genres, including classical, musical theatre and contemporary styles.

The role includes supporting pupils in preparation for concerts, performances, auditions and graded examinations (e.g. ABRSM and Trinity), inspiring students to achieve their individual potential while fostering a love of singing and performance.

About you

You will be able to teach singing to a high standard through Grade 8 and beyond and should have experience of delivering individual singing lessons to both primary and secondary-aged students. You will be confident teaching a wide variety of repertoire and will demonstrate a strong understanding of ABRSM and/or Trinity examination requirements.

Excellent aural skills, strong musicianship and the ability to coach interpretation and performance is essential, alongside a high level of personal vocal performance skills and experience of preparing students for auditions and performances.
