St Swithun’s is seeking a Director of Music to lead our musical community and shape the future of music across the school. Music is integral to our culture, and we are looking for a leader who can champion both excellence and broad participation.
The successful candidate will motivate a skilled team, engage confidently with pupils and parents, and cultivate an environment where musicians of all abilities feel encouraged to take part and our most talented pupils can truly excel. They will respect the department’s strong foundations while bringing fresh ideas and creative ambition.
Alongside curricular teaching, the Director of Music will have dedicated time to develop the co-curricular programme, extend performance opportunities and, working with the prep school head of music, strengthen the continuity of musical learning across the 3–18 age range.
