Head of Biology

Required from September 2020

We are seeking to appoint a high achieving and ambitious individual to lead this popular, dynamic and successful department. Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, and have the ability to inspire students and staff. Extensive subject knowledge is required, alongside an ability to articulate and implement a vision for the future of biology at St Helen’s. A genuine passion for teaching biology and a commitment to a full and inclusive extracurricular programme are essential.

The post is available from September 2020 and involves teaching across the age and ability range from Year 7 to Upper Sixth. In addition to teaching, the post-holder will also have pastoral responsibilities within their allocated year group.

All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the pastoral and enrichment programmes of the School. All staff share the responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the students, in accordance with the School’s safeguarding policies.
