St Catherine’s School invites applications for the position of Admissions Assistant. This is a year‑round, part‑time role supporting the effective operation of the School’s Admissions Department. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, accuracy, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional experience to prospective families.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Assistant will provide administrative and operational support across all areas of pupil recruitment. The primary focus of the Admissions team is pupil recruitment and building relationships with families enquiring about places at the School. The postholder will work collaboratively within a busy team, ensuring the smooth running of admissions processes and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Admissions enquiries — Respond promptly and professionally to prospective parent enquiries.
Record management — Maintain accurate admissions records, filing systems and databases, including SIMS and Open Apply.
Data processing — Support the annual roll‑over of pupil records and update new joiner information.
Correspondence handling — Manage email enquiries and maintain detailed contact histories.
Overseas admissions — Assist with filtering international enquiries, liaising with agents, and coordinating exam invigilation arrangements.
Event administration — Prepare documentation, collate attendance lists, arrange tour guides, and support Open Mornings, Taster Days, Sixth Form events and Entrance Assessment Day.
Reporting — Run analysis reports to support admissions and marketing strategy.
General administration — Maintain prospective pupil files, archive records, update contact lists, and support school tours.
About You
Essential Criteria
- Communication skills — Excellent verbal and written communication.
- IT proficiency — Competent in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Organisation — Strong organisational ability with a keen eye for detail.
- Teamwork — Ability to work collaboratively and independently as required.
- Professionalism, discretion and a positive, proactive approach.
Desirable – Experience of working in a school or higher education environment.
