Hourly pay rate: £13.11 an hour

Hours of work: By negotiation and agreement during January, April, May and June; when external invigilators may be required


We are looking for an outstanding individual, with a good general level of education to join our team as an Examinations Invigilator.

Reporting to the Examinations Officer, the main duties are to conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding body and Sir William Perkins’s Schools regulations and instructions and to have a key role in upholding the integrity and security of the examination/assessment process.


Previous experience of invigilation is not required as training in the role and duties of an invigilator will be provided, but our ideal candidate will have the ability to:

Demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills and be able to work to predetermined instructions.

Apply established procedures to given situations quickly and with confidence.

Work as part of a team and independently, depending on the examination requirement.

Communicate confidently, easily and effectively with both young people and adults. Previous experience working with young people would be desirable but not essential.

Be flexible, patient, with a calm disposition.

Deal with confidential information in a sensitive way.

Be kind and with a good sense of humour.
