The Sports Centre Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective operation of the Swimming Pool, Sports Centre facilities and The Dome sports facilities. Particular focus will be on ensuring that all the facilities and equipment are appropriately maintained, staffed and managed for the benefit of the School and external users.
The Sports Centre Manager will work to grow the commercial activities of all the sports facilities, ensuring they are well used by; the School; the local community outside of school hours and by; commercial lets outside of term time, generating a commercial return for the School.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the facilities are set up and available for school, sports hire and community lets.
- Liaise with the Deputy Head Academic and the Director of Sport to ensure that MSJ lessons and cocurricular activities can be delivered as a priority.
- Promote and encourage the use of facilities and services ensuring the highest standards of customer relations are maintained.
- Manage and administer Sports Centre membership with a focus to increase numbers and ensure all members enjoy the best possible experience, to include:
- Review and develop income generation plans for all Sports Centre facilities to include marketing promotions.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with external contacts and organisations to enhance the profile and reputation of the Sports Centre and facilities, and grow potential business partnerships. Maintain and update Sports Centre database and website.
- Monitor and control the day-to-day budget for the Sports Centre.
- Coordinate and develop the fitness class programmes, ensuring an appropriate balance of in-house and contractor delivery.
- Coordinate the swimming lesson programmes, including in-house, external lessons and holiday swim camps, grow income from other wet and dry side hiring activities, including other commercial uses of the swimming pool.
- Participate in the provision of lifeguarding, leading fitness classes and personal training sessions.
