We are seeking to appoint an AV and IT Technician as soon as possible to join our team and provide essential technical support across the school. Recognised qualifications would be beneficial, and a commitment to quality and excellence is essential.
The Role
This is a varied role, and the post holder will be part of an established team offering support to colleagues across the School. Their skills and expertise will facilitate large and small-scale shows and performances; awards ceremonies; regular assemblies; staff meetings; lessons; examinations and other events. They will occasionally provide technical support required for community use of the school facilities.
The role will involve the use of a wide range of software and equipment including sound, lighting and staging gear. Specific training will be provided for equipment and software where necessary. It will also offer the opportunity to support and train the students in their knowledge and use of equipment.
The successful candidate will be someone capable of taking ownership of their work, following through to a satisfactory conclusion. They will have a sound understanding of Health & Safety and GDPR procedures and requirements, as well as the safe use of equipment. They will be expected to build positive working relationships with all school staff and ensure the school events can operate as smoothly as possible to create the best environment for our pupils.
The School Site
The School site is very pleasantly situated next to the Botanical Gardens in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, 1½ miles from Birmingham city centre. It is a large site comprising a Senior School, Prep School and Nursery. The Small Print
This position is full-time: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday (usually 8:00am – 4:30pm including 1 hour lunch break). Out of hours work is required for events, with time off in lieu provided.
