Minibus Drivers (Term Time) – Bank Flexible Shifts

Bank rate: £16.18 per hour

Various shift patterns are available between Monday to Saturday 6.00am-8.00am and 6.00pm-9.00pm. Additional hours may be available on an ad hoc basis to meet the operational needs of the school. Please provide your availability and preferred shifts within your application.

We are looking for reliable and friendly staff to join our team of Minibus Drivers, providing transport to and from the school for our day pupils. The work would be on a part-time, bank contract basis - shift timings are detailed below but can vary depending on specific routes. You will require a full and valid driving licence and at least 2 years driving experience. It would be useful if you have already obtained a D1 category licence, and have previous experience of driving a minibus, however full training will be provided.

During the initial period, time will be dedicated to training to obtain a D1 category licence, health & safety and safeguarding training, and familiarisation with the minibus routes. This can be arranged on a flexible basis to suit your availability.

Term time is 34 weeks per year – flexible shifts are available. When applying, please indicate your availability for shifts in terms of hours in the day, and days per week so that shifts and routes can be scheduled accordingly.

Main Duties

Transport pupils to and from the school on a set route, using the stops specified on your timetable.

Be responsible for the safety, comfort, and welfare of the pupils during the journey.

Carry out daily vehicle checks, basic maintenance and ensure the bus is clean and tidy before and after each journey.

Report any damage or maintenance issues with the minibus immediately to the Senior Minibus Driver.

Be a good ambassador for the school, promoting a positive image in terms of professional and courteous conduct.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Own transport is essential as the school is in a rural location with no public transport links.
