We are currently seeking to fill the position of Science Technician at City of London School for Girls.
The Pioneer STEM technician is part of the science technician team with their primary responsibility in looking after the Pioneer Centre, the area of the school used for collaborative learning in STEM, including computer science, clean room design technology, projection mapping, sixth form long-term project work and associated use by the school. It is expected that this will take up 3 of 5 days worth of work a week.
At other times, the Pioneer STEM technician will assist with other science laboratory work as required. Laboratory technicians are required to ensure the smooth running of the science faculty by providing equipment, help and assistance to the teaching staff.
They are responsible to the Head of the relevant Department but are expected to work as a team; helping in other subject areas when necessary. The work will vary due to a number of factors, including the nature of science teaching being undertaken, changes in the specifications, qualifications and experience of the technician concerned.
The position may be modified from time to time due to changes in circumstances but with the knowledge of and discussion with the present holder. As a new role, the Pioneer STEM technician role may change to suit purpose over time. Technicians must follow the departments Health and Safety Policy and be aware of the need to make risk assessments at all times. They should use all available safety equipment as appropriate
This is a term time plus 3 weeks role with a starting salary of £32,712.
